FAQ: Connecting Protocol Converters
Q: How do you connect a protocol converter into a system?
A: This depends on the configuration of the system.
Non-Mercer Controller to Mercer Domes:
Connect the RS232 or RS485 from the Matrix to the Port 1 of the Protocol converter and connect the Slave port to the Mercer Domes. Ensure that the Protocol converter Slave port is Terminated. Note - if Klippon connector are on the Protocol Converter, they are used instead of the Slave Port.
Non-Mercer Domes from Mercer Keyboard:
Connect the Mercer Matrix Control system to the Slave port of the Protocol Converter and Connect Port 1 to the Non-Mercer Domes. Note - If RS232 connections are required from the Mercer Matrix, connect to the Master port instead of Slave port.
